In the reading from Thomas Aquinas (#4) he mentions that all humility is with respect to God, and injunctions to be subject to men is really only our submissiveness to God in them.
I like the way you connect that humility to God to both empowering from God to be humble and as a response that is conscious only of God and not men. Good thoughts.

"Gentle Jesus, meek and mild,Look on me, a little Child;Pity my simplicity,Suffer me to come to thee."
That should be put to music preferably to one of those simple tunes that stays in your head so you sing it to yourself over and over.
